Do it Yourself Project Day!

Project 1:
Create a Modern Ceramic Look Alike Planter for Less…

Anyone can go out and buy expensive ceramic pots with plants already put together and ready for display. However, not everyone wants to spend an arm and a leg to  decorate. Here is a simple project you can do at home for way less! Create this look for $85. While browsing online and in stores the range for a ceramic potted agave plant was anywhere from $175 and up.

Supplies needed:
1.     Blue Spray Paint Home Depot $3
2.     Plastic Pots from Costco $15
3.     Agave Plant $50
4.     Soil $7
5.     White Rocks $10

HOW TO- Setup an area that you won’t mind a little overspray from your spray paint. We chose the grass area in our back yard. Next, take the blue spray paint and lightly mist over the pot to give it that shiny blue ceramic look. We chose a metallic blue that has some sparkle to it. Next add your soil, agave plant and white rocks at the top. See photo for our finished product!

***Many different plants will look great we just love Agave***

Project 2:
Create a Romantic vibe outdoors with lanterns of all different sizes.

Nothing screams romance and elegance like candles surrounding an outdoor space like a pool, hot tub or sitting area. Create this look for under $37! While browsing online and in stores the range was anywhere from $45 and up for smaller lanterns.

                                                Supplies Needed:
1.     Lanterns from Pier 1 $15-25
2.     Candles from Walmart $5-10
3.     Clear Spray Paint from Home Depot$3

HOW TO- Setup an area that you won’t mind a little overspray from your spray paint. We chose the grass area in our back yard. Next, take out the glass in your lanters. Spray the metal with the clear gloss spray paint to help the lantern from rusting. Insert glass, add your candles and voilĂ  you have beautiful lanterns for a romantic evening or modern touch.

These are both great ideas to either spruce up your personal home, a new listing that needs some sparkle or even a great closing gift!
